Current time in Greenland
Greenland
Greenland is a very big island, it’s situated between latitudes 59° and 83°N, and longitudes 11° and 74°W. Greenland uses multiple time zones, day light savings time is used in most (not all) parts of the country. Most of Greenland uses West Greenland Time WGT and Western Greenland Summer Time WGST. WGT is UTC -0300 and WGST is UTC -0200. Scoresbysund in the east of the country uses East Greenland Time EGT and Eastern Greenland Summer Time EGST. EGT is UTC -0100 and EGST is UTC -0000. Qaanaaq in the west of the country uses Atlantis Standard Time AST and Atlantic Daylight Time ADT. AST is UTC -0400 and ADT is UTC -0300. Danmarkshavn in the East uses GMT and is the only part of Greenland without daylight saving time. Notice the extreme latitude of Greenland. Because of this the length of the days in Greenland is heavily affected by the seasons. Especially in the north of the country winter days are short and cold.
